Mindful Management of Your Karmic Bank Account

Good ole Facebook reminded me of a post I wrote two years ago about getting moved to another seat on a flight due to a broken tray table. This was minutes after I gave away free drink tickets to fellow passengers when I was called up to the podium for the ‘bad news.’
I stood in front of the podium as the flight attendant apologized about the broken tray table and informed me that I would have to be moved to another seat. A window seat with more legroom.
I whispered ‘thank you’ to the heavens above as I sipped on my also upgraded thirty-two-ounce smoothie from Juiceland at the Austin, TX airport. I just happened to order a small size of the same smoothie they had already made in a thirty two ounce size. I was at the right place, at the right time with the right I dream of greenie order.
This is not a story for me to tell you all the goodness that comes into my life. This is a story about my karmic bank account and how any one of us can cash it out immediately, at any given time, at any given location, anywhere in the world.
We all have a karmic bank account and like the tangible bank accounts around the world, some have more and some have less. It all depends on our how we manage what is in each one of our accounts, cash money or karmic compensation.
After my morning meditation, I thought how many of us set aside a percentage of our good will and intention to invest in the karmic flow of life.
In financial terms, once a person receives their weekly, bi-weekly or monthly check, eighty percent of Americans put it in a bank account only to spend it without categorizing the importance of paying themselves first. Fifty-five million Americans have no emergency savings and around forty percent have a savings of one thousand dollars or less.
That’s scary.
So imagine the karmic bank accounts of the same persons, what do you think is in theirs? What’s in yours?
It all boils down to mindful management; mindful management of self, mindful management of money and of your karmic bank account.
Mindfulness is the state of being aware, a state of being conscious of yourself, your actions, your thoughts, behaviors, reactions, responses and so forth.
Once we become mindful of ourselves, the rest is easy.
Same goes with your tangible and karmic bank accounts. Mindful management of self allows one to easily flow into the mindful management of everything happening inside and outside of you.
Once you start paying yourself first with every single check you earn, you will see and can touch the tangible benefits in one year’s time. But when you start setting aside time and effort to do more good not only in your life, but in the lives of others, the intangible benefits of your karmic account will always pay off. The more you give without expectations, the more you will receive. That is Universal law.
The Universe will pay out and reward you based on your karmic bank account balance.
Karma is the law of cause and effect; the causes you have put out in your thoughts, words, actions, non-actions all have become the effect of today. Whatever you have today in your karmic bank account is because of yesterday, last year, years before or even lifetimes ago.
So start today for tomorrow, for next year, for the years to come, it’s never too late.
How do you start, some of you may wonder? Share a smile, plant a seed of positive thoughts, give a compliment, do a good deed, expect nothing and give if you can. Spread love and give all you can, do all the good you can and watch your karmic bank account grow.
Blessed be.
