The Degrees of Energy Transference

We ain’t talking about heat processes neither.
I walked into kickboxing class the other evening to join some other badass Albanian women. I attend an all women’s class three times a week. Where we are fortunate to punch, kick and hit the guards held by our trainer’s other male students. This is my first ever kickboxing class, but I’m pretty sure this type of training is better than sparring with your newbie classmate. I would be afraid of accidentally hitting or punching my classmate in the face, but these guys in this class can take it. One of them being the current champion of Prishtine, Kosovo, the person I was matched up with this particular evening.
I walked in tired, exhausted from the day, rallying myself up to come to class even though I could barely hold a pencil in my hand. I walked through that door and congratulated myself for bringing myself thus far. Then I was partnered up with the best of the best in the class. I couldn’t even catch my breath between the rounds rotating myself and the other woman. Who punched and kicked the guards in seconds before he turned around to me to begin again.
I was tired and slow in my punches and kicks as my other classmate next to me complained of her guy who held their guards. His hands were limp and loose as he held the guards, his energy like a lump of coal, his eyes glazed over as his mind wished he were anywhere else but there. All of us could not only see his energy, we all felt it.
His demeanor and his energy transferred into her performance, a woman I’ve watched and admired as her kicks and punches vibrate around the world. Her energy and demeanor shifted close to his and then it was as if she didn’t care anymore. She wasn’t feeling it because he wasn’t feeling it.
Energy transference.
His energy transferred and seeped past her boundary line, into her performance and it affected her mind, body and soul.
How many times in our lives have we ever felt like the guy or girl in this scenario? How many of us were aware of our own energy and emotional states where it was affecting another person within our vicinity?
Humans can absorb and transfer energy, just like plants do.
A biological research team at Bielefeld University has made a groundbreaking discovery showing that plants can draw an alternative source of energy from other plants. This finding could also have a major impact on the future of bioenergy eventually providing the evidence to show that people draw energy from others in much the same way.
Members of Professor Dr. Olaf Kruse’s biological research team have confirmed for the first time that a plant, the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, not only engages in photosynthesis, but also has an alternative source of energy: it can draw it from other plants.
Us humans can transfer, give and receive energy. Energy is the life force flowing through each one of us; the Chinese call it Qi, the Japanese call it Ki, Indians in India call it Prana and so on.
An intangible force that can shift an entire being of a person.
Since my life force energy matched my classmate’s guy, I asked her if she wanted to switch during break. We did and I watched as her energy went from lump of coal-ish to the woman whose punches were once again heard around the world. It took less than twenty minutes for her light to shine again and her smile to radiate.
As my barely there punches and kicks matched with her former guy’s limp and loosely held guards, his mind in la-la land, my focus on the class being over.
It was a win win that evening.
There will be days when your energy level is low or lower than usual and that’s normal. There will be days when you feel on top of the world and people can feel your energy and that’s normal. There are different levels and degrees when your energy is high and low.
A lesson I’ve learned over all the years of my own healing journey and helping so many others is that consistency is key.
Consistency in how we hold space for ourselves, how we care for ourselves, how we continue to work on ourselves on a daily basis affects not only our mental, emotional and physical health, but also the health of another in our vicinity.
If we can consistently care for ourselves on a daily basis, fueling our minds, bodies and souls, the result allows us to care for those around us, in a healthy, positive way, because wouldn’t you know, we ourselves are healthy and positive.
Be the energy you want to emit.
Blessed be.
