Self-Waged War

The Battles Within. A Quarantine Poem

We are losing the battle within ourselves.
We do not know how to use our tools.

From our self worth to self-pity, we let them go astray.
The glocks we hold are rusty ones.

They can shoot happiness but instead
They cannonball weights of sadness

From within our souls
We carry that hurts another.
Unknowingly, unwillingly, subconsciously

The war raged within is not a battle for any other
But only that which you must win yourself.

You are your own soldier, captain, and brigade.
You are on the winning team.

But you have to know who you are
You have to know where you stand and

Who you believe in.
Believe in yourself, you will win.
